Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa has won the Miss Universe title of the year 2019. There were 90 participants from all over the world in this competition held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

For India, Vartika Singh also took part in the competition but could not make it to the top ten. Twentysix years old Zozibini Tunzi is also known as an activist actively against gender discrimination. She has also campaigned against gender stereotypes on social media.

Zozibini Tunzi says, I was born in a world where women like me, who have skin and hair like me, are not considered beautiful. I want this discrimination to stop now. Children should look at me. Must see my face. They will see their face in my face. Zozibini Tunzii had said before the competition that if you cannot make your beauty the mission of your life, then you are just an empty jewel.

20 beauties had reached the semifinles with Jojibini. Colombia, France, Iceland, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Thailand and the United States of America ranked in the top ten. At the beginning of the competition, the contestants walked in the traditional attire representing their country. Vartika Singh of India was seen in a red lehenga. After the costume round, Vartika Singh had a wild card entry in the top-20 semifinalists. However, she could not make it to the top ten.
